DAY 10
Write down any words or terms that you don’t understand.
Go through the following to get understanding.
- How is the word or phrase used in the book? Write down things you learn in each passage. Note the CONTEXT of the passage. What is the passage talking about? How does the main idea of this passage help you understand the word or phrase? Consider this for every passage where the word is used in the book you are studying.
- How does the author use the same word or phrase in other books? Use a concordance to help you find this information.
- If you have a word-study book, look up the word in that book.
- Look up the passage in a commentary, and see if anything is mentioned about the phrase or word.
- Look up the word in your native-language dictionary.
- Reed the passage in another translation.
- Formulate your definition of the word or the phrase, then insert it into the passage to see if it makes sense.
